Way better than Jimmy John's and Subway! They've got some unique sandwiches, but not too exotic, to put a fresh spin on your sandwich. Don't worry, they've got your classic sandwiches too, but they've actually got flavor. The staff are all super cool, but when I decide to get delivery instead, it never seems to seems to take very long.
I love this place. As a vegetarian and student they give out lot of offers, very affordable and lot of veggie options for all the vegetarians out there, also do try buffalo sauce on your sandwich if you like it spicy. And if you subscribe to their loyalty program, you get amazing deals and free sandwich on your birthday :P
Yello Sub is a Lawrence classic and still as good as it was the first time I ate there over twenty years ago. The menu doesn't change much and the quality stays high. If you're in a hurry, call ahead; this is not fast food. They work crazy hard, but good food takes time and they are always busy if it's within a couple of hours of lunch or dinner. If you can't find something you love here, you must be impossible to please.
I've always liked this place in town. But a recent order motivated me to get off my behind and give these guys a good review. I have a daughter with an egg allergy, so mayo is a no go. When I told the guy I wanted a sandwich with half mayo and half no mayo, and specifically mentioned it was an allergy related request, they made sure to wrap the second half of the sub in a completely different wrapper in the delivery bag. It seems like a small thing, but it is those kind of polite extra steps that make this place a must go sub shop when you're in town. That and the subs are really good.
While they take a bit longer than the competing sandwich joints, nothing beats the creamy club! I recommend taking the in-store advice and calling ahead if you want to eat immediately after stepping in the door. Otherwise the wait can be up to 20 minutes on a busy day, but again, it's worth the wait. My average delivery time is about an hour from a mile away.
