Louisiana native approved. PoBoys are like BBQ there is no such thing as “the one” just styles you prefer and places that do them well. Terrebonne’s is no Mother’s but it could hold its own down there.
I just had gotten some food from there. And to be respectfully honest. What I had, was not all that. I had the gumbo, hush puppies, and a fish poboy. The rue in the gumbo was over cooked\burnt. The hush puppies were over cooked as well. The poboy was just okay.
Absolutely amazing. my new favorite restaurant on Lawrence. everything I've tried has been incredible and delicious. their menu is varied, their specials are unique and wonderful, and they have a wall of hot sauces (including one I've only seen in a tiny Texas town's hole in the wall joint, that I didn't know existed anymore). truly outstanding!
Maybe I just caught them on a bad day.
It's a great simple lunch place downtown; very little seating space with a few extra tables outside. But the small menu of unique regulars keeps many people coming back. I like the unique chicken salad in a spinach wrap so much I haven't even tried anything else; I always step in to order then head out taking my meal with me. Good variety of embroidery decorations all over the walls, humorous salt and pepper shakers help you enjoy the brief wait.
Being from the South, I guess I was expecting more. I heard too many good things about this place.
Small space with lots of character. Loved the wasabi (deviled) egg! The gumbo was good and hearty, although not spicy at all. Hush puppies were light and delightful. Easy, relaxed atmosphere.
Also don’t think I’ve ever intentionally ordered hush puppies before in my life but the ones here are amazingly good.
