A great space to work/study together with good coffee and a nice environment.
It's a refuge of sorts for Lawrence's Evangelicals, but in a way that feels neither off-putting to the skeptical nor pandered to the faithful. The place is a Christian bookstore with a very warm, inviting coffee space and a respectable gallery upstairs. They also have this gorgeous antique Steinway in their lobby which they let folks (who can demonstrate a modicum of skill mind you -- no chopsticks) play.

One of the best coffee shops in Lawrence! Great coffee and great service! Kind of pricey like the other nearby shops, but the atmosphere makes up for it! I really enjoy Signs of Life when I'm in desperate need of some espresso. Their service is always quick, and it's fun to browse the bookstore inside! I have come when I wanted to study and I felt like their music was just too loud to concentrate when I went, and limited seating in the coffee shop, but a perfect atmosphere for casual conversation and fellowship.
Amazing place. Great coffee, comfortable area for studying, chatting, and browsing for books. There is an art gallery upstairs. Sometimes they even have live music. My favorite drink is the London Fog with vanilla instead of honey. The change from honey to vanilla was suggested by an employee when she was helping me look for a new drink to try and I told her I didn't like honey. It's the things like that that make this a great coffee shop. One of my all-time favorite.
