Any comic book and toy nerd will love it here! Huge place full of different toys including star wars, star trek, pop figures, you name it! Board games, comics, Pokemon cards, they have it all! Definitely worth visiting occasionally just to look!
Wow, what a repository of pop culture. New and old comic books; rpg, board and war games galore, chotkis all shape and size! And speaking of size this labyrinth of fantasy and whimsy is of epic proportions.
Loved Boom and for a long time it was the only comic shop I would visit. I recently lost all respect for the owner when he came out of his store and started yelling and screaming at people. Another business was having a small business Saturday sale and people were lined up outside of the store. The owner of Boom was not happy and kept coming out and yelling at everybody to get off his property. The street and sidewalk belong to the City. Nobody was causing any harm to him or his store. Everybody made sure to stay away from his front door and to clear a path for him to get in and out. He was not even open for another 3 hours when this happened so this did not slow down or affect his business He is just a very rude and unhappy person. I now understand why almost all of his employees quit on him. The Topeka location did not have a single employee for weeks which caused him to temporarily shut the store down.
Went in to see if they had a particular few Magic: the Gathering items I needed with a friend of mine. Initially I had hesitated since there was a older, disgruntled, and questionable individual outside the shop pestering people outside. We waited for that individual to leave before entering. Upon entering, I navigated to the area where Magic cards are on display. There I encountered an employee and another individual having a conversation. I attempted to ask some questions about pricing but could not grab the employee's attention. He was busy discussing something "a twitch channel" and a "Five-Oh legacy run." Regardless, I was unable to get his attention and eventually when the conversation ended, he left without acknowledging me. We immediately left the establishment after that.
Bought a USED copy of Walking Dead Compendium 2, originally $60 new and they sold it for $52 in rough condition. Bent cover and spine, not worth the time to try and get someone’s attention and not worth the money for a book that was obviously not well handled
