This is such a beautiful campground! The sites are large and flat. The hiking trails are long and the views amazing. We did encounter quite a few ticks earlier in the year but none in September.
We love it. So clean. So many things to see and do. Spend all our free family time their.
This is a great place to camp. The facilities overall are great. One or two could use some refurbishing. Still a great experience! Had one issue with a family pulling late and putting two of their tents in our campsite. One quick chat with the camp host had two rangers come and sort out the issue. Apparently 7 tents was a bit over what they had actually paid for. In any case they moved over a bit and we all got along fine.
Large campground with lots of nice spots, each far enough apart that you don't feel like you're camping on top of each other. Facilities are decent. Bring your own firewood into the park.
It's a bit of a drive from Kansas City but worth it and there's some cool little trails in the woods that are like bicycle Adventure Trails mom and the dog loved it
