Now, Bert Nash has a new policy that a patient MUST see a therapist if they want medications. In other words, no freedom to chose a Therapist outside of Bert Nash...it's a money making business. I was very unsatisfied with the 4 Therapists I saw at Bert Nash! They were not a good fit but I guess Bert Nash doesn't care.
Most of the staff here are amazing, just advocate for yourself.
Aweful. My brother in law, who is a past drug addict, was recently prescribed 3mg of xanax a day! As everyone knows xanax is a highly addictive drug. So thanks to them he is now walking around high as a kite and already abused the medication. Thanks for nothing. If you are truly needing help I would not recommend going to them!!!!
Mental Health In the State of Kansas is awful and inhuman!!!!
They offer good mental health services and medication mgmt. Has a Crisis Center that works with LMH ED. High turnover rate amongst staff and Therapists though.
Bert Nash's requirements to even see a Medication Specialist or Therapist is unacceptable. One must first have an "Intake" which is acceptable but only between the hours of 10:00AM - 1:00PM. If one arrives at 12:30 there's a possibility that one has to go back because it's on a first come first served basis & close to 1:00PM when Intakes end. Intakes take about an hour to an hour and a half. They need to be flexible with their times and extend the hours until 3:00PM. The Director of Bert Nash needs to look into this issue if he/she cares to.
Why doesn't the lowest rated Governor, Brownback, improve mental health and release some funds to the Mental Health outpatient facilities in order to hire more employees to help people who depend on them?? We need more choices of Therapists at Bert Nash & an emergency room open 24/7 for patients who need mental health service at Bert Nash, instead of sending them to a regular hospital ER.
If a patient's having side affects from a medication Bert Nash directs their patents to LMH's ER, who can only stabilize a person but recommend you to go back to the source which is Bert Nash. Good luck trying to get in to see a med specialist even after you've been to the ER.
